Aaron Clausen

Sr. Farm Bill Biologist - South Central

(605) 280-9212

Aaron’s love for the outdoors began on the waters of the Missouri River and in the tall grasslands of central South Dakota. From a young age, he was bringing home pheasants, sharp-tailed grouse, deer, pronghorn and walleye for dinner. After completing a BS in Biology in his home state, he moved to Washington and researched riparian plant communities to complete a MS in Biology before finally settling in Montana. In Montana, he has served as an AmeriCorps-member protecting water quality and improving habitat along the Flathead River, worked with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks to improve habitat on public properties in the Flathead Valley, and worked on river restoration efforts on the Clark Fork River. In 2015, Aaron started with Pheasants Forever as a biologist in north-central Montana, where he assisted landowners with conservation projects and grassland habitat restoration. He moved to Bozeman in 2017 to continue working with landowners, conservation partners, and Pheasants Forever chapters in southern Montana. In his spare time, Aaron is most likely enjoying the public mountains and streams for which Montana is famous with his wife, Sonja, and their furry kids.
